Quick update: after a 6 hour drive today, Em and I are relaxing with friends in Omaha, Nebraska. The key verb here is "relaxing", as it's the first time all trip we've really done so.
Got my hair cut in a salon in the suburbs by a woman named Jericka (I piggybacked on our host's appointment and got it taken care of), ate some falafel, and am about to go drink a beer. Life is good.
